I took a walk around the house this morning and other than some broken branches from trees, we received no damage.

It's still windy here today and is still snowing hard.

That's a drag with your weather but I suppose its been pretty good snow wise this year. Lucky you had no damage.

Yeah, we made off pretty easy this time even compared to what they were forecasting. The wind was strong and on the second floor our house was moving quite a bit last night.

I was in Montreal from Sunday onwards. The plan was to go to my meetings, and have some fun with clients because Montreal is such a great city to go out at night. I had some calls to do in the Kingston area for Wednesday morning, and I was supposed to be back home in T.O. for my wife for Valentines day.

The bloody storm caused white out conditions all along the 401 Wednesday morning. The 401 was closed in two sections about 50 km West of Kingston. I ended up spending the night there, while my wife was fuming that I planned a business trip on our Anniversary and Valentine's day week.

I just got back in today (Thursday). I have 3 hours before she gets home from work to think of something up that I can do to minimize the onslaught of "you selfish workaholic husband" talk. hahahahaha. I'm thinking to have dinner ready and have some flowers ready. Lots and lots of flowers.

Wow, so many weather stories. Now wonder we Canadians talk about the weather so much. Being Canadian we're supposed to get used to this kinda stuff. Not I. I thought we had it tough with 70 cm. in Hamilton and 10 -15 here in KW. But your guys out east, wtf. It must be the great summers that keep you there eh boyz?

Well, she's coming home now. I better get off the car forums. lol.

I've decided to just cook dinner. Here's the menu:

-Roast chicken
-Jamaican Patties (her favourite)
-Rice
-Salad
-Ice Cream

Wish me luck. She didn't sound too pissed on the phone, but I heard from my buddy, she talked to his wife about me and my scheduling issues. hahahah

Thanks for the suggestions.

Yeah, weather is always fun to talk about. You must be talking about Shane - with the weather in Saint John. We got off lucky here compared to you the rest of you guys. A little windy up to about 100km/hr but hey you get used to a little blow when you live by the ocean.

Our summers are pretty short so not sure that's it either. I guess its something about the beauty here and the way of life. Maybe Colin can comment.

My neighbour keeps losing his siding. It looks to me it was not put on with large head nails made for siding so it keeps pulling off whenever winds get up over 80k or so.

You nailed it Deane. To me, there is nothing like the slower, more laid back lifestyle here in the Maritimes. A high paced big city lifestyle definitely doesn't interst me and I love how friendly everyone is this part of the country. Real estate prices sure are nice as well. But I agree, the summers are not very long.

Your real estate prices are nice. Ours aren't so great and neither are our taxes. 87% of our city is financed with home taxes; GTA for example is 15% according to a story I read a couple of days ago. The feds/prov. kick in lot more.

The rest of it is all good though.
