Out of gas. Fire at Imperial oil and CN strike are the excuses. Those stations who have gas are charging LOTS for stuff. Most stations here in KW are 99.9 for reg.
And I don't smoke anymore so there is no joy in this for me.

Yes, i saw this too everywhere for the past 2 days.
I hope it don't jump up anymore.

i was kinda surprised that i got 250kms with half a tank. I will see what is the final km at next fill up.

If i can get 400 - 450 to a single tank. That ain't too bad

Is this the norm?

The government should regulate that and charge stations that up their prices to manipulate the market.

i think something like that happened before. IIRC

Do you realize how much of the retail price of gas is actually federal taxes? If they want to regulate the price they just need to regulate their own share.

A. That depends on where you live in Canada and where you buy your gasoline. Taxes are usually responsible for the largest component of gasoline prices. On average, Canadian taxes represent 40 to 50 per cent of what you pay at the pumps.

The federal portion consists of the excise tax, which is 10 cents per litre. In addition, the Goods and Services Tax, which is 7 per cent, is added to the total pump price, and is effectively a tax on tax. (In the Atlantic, the GST is represented as a portion of the Harmonized Sales Tax.)

The provincial tax portion varies from province to province. Provincial taxes range from 6.2 cent per litre in the Yukon to 16.5 cents in Newfoundland and Labrador. In some urban centers, such as Vancouver and Montreal, an additional transit tax is levied.
In 2005, Canadians paid on average 32.7 cents tax on every litre of gasoline. That represents more than $16 on a 50-litre fill.

I thought it was just the Esso's. All the Esso's are down, but everyone else seems to be okay.

There's trouble with a number of different gas stations, not just Esso. Apparently, this supply problem is expected to be an issue for up to 3 weeks

I filled up last night and just have to have enough gas to make it to the US border Thursday morning, at which point I'll be on my way to Myrtle Beach for a week and a half

My advice would be for all those that like to run their tanks near empty before filling, ummm, think twice as more stations will run out before this gets better, I believe...
