Man oh man...I hope today isn't just a teaser.
I fully intended to spend the afternoon in the driveway with hose & bucket on the cars.
My mistake was starting with the Z4.....
I backed it out of the garage..... stopped for a minute.. then said nah, nyet, no way!
The sun & warm weather was just too good to pass up.
- time to put some rubber to the road.
I just can't stop smiling... damn this car is fun.

I went for my drive in the fog yesterday .
Today I caressed, I mean I gave the G a good hand washing in the driveway. She has not had a hand wash since early January. I can still hear her purring out there.
The roads are just to sloppy to take her out now.
I suppose you even put the top down and cranked up the heat while you were out for your drive.

This weather sure is a welcome relief for the winter blahs....
LOL... I resisted the temptation to go topless, but I sure thought about it.

Well the Calgary weather didn't quite get up to 20 C yesterday, but Fri / Sat / Sun all hit around 15/16 C. Good enough to haul the car out. I took the Z out for about a 30 min cruise on Fri and Sat, and a much longer one on Sunday with company from a friend in his Porsche. Roads were good for the most part, aside from the occasional puddle of meltwater running across some of the roads in my suburbs...
One of my Porsche buddies wasn't able to get his C4S out of storage, so it was just me and my buddy in his modded 98 Boxster. He's getting 320 hp+ out of the 3.4L Carrera engine that he installed on his car, vs. the old stock 205 hp (?) from his former 2.5L engine. Coupled with the lighter weight of his car, he was pulling on me in basically every gear. Incredible.
The cruise was great, and since I live in the NW corner of the city it was easy access to the highways. Close call though - after a particularly "spirited" run, we pulled into the town of Cochrane to admire the mountain views and snap some pics. My buddy noticed that my right front tire was running low - an immediate feeling of deja vu came over me (that was the same corner that flatted on me inexplicably last summer). Now, I know it was unlikely that it was the tire (it's a brand new Pilot A/S), so I am thinking either my wheel is either out of round or perhaps there is some air leaking from the stem. Sheesh.
The good thing was that I didn't drive on a completely flat tire or I would have shredded the sidewall. We hopped in my buddies' Boxster and drove into the town centre to find a compressor but they were out of stock at Crappy Tire. We were lucky to find a CAA truck in town who agreed to follow us to out to where my car was parked and thankfully my tire inflated. I was able to drive the 20 kms or so to my car with no issues. An hour or so later I drove to the nearest gas station and filled it to about 35 to 36 psi, but a few hours later into the evening the tire looked low again.
Am going to take the wheel off the car and have it checked out at the shop. Hopefully it's just the valve stem - perhaps it just needs tightening from the inside?
Anyway, I must have an angel watching over me. Would not have wanted to flat on the highway. My other friend had a blowout last year on Hwy 1 and was lucky to have only walked away with a bent rim...
