275/35/19's... order from US or buy in GTA?

Is it worth ordering from the US and paying shipping and brokerage or is there somewhere in the Toronto area that would be better? I'm thinking Toyo T1R's but am open to suggestions.

Thanks

I just picked up a set of Falken 452 245/35/19 and 275/35/19 for 967.76 USD shipped to Toronto. Brokerage and tax came up to 138 CDN. After conversion and brokerage it was still cheaper then buying local.

get them from the US. It's way cheaper even after the 7% duty, 6% GST, brokerage and shipping. Just to give you an idea my 20's T1R, I picked them up for $950 USD, once I got them at my door step, the bill was $1296 all in. I got a quote here in the GTA for the exact same tires for $2475 + tax. Go figure!

My best quote so far from a store in the GTA is $800 for the two.

Best price from the US is $234 each plus $100 shipping plus taxes and duty.

I figure it should come to about $700 Canadian when it's all said and done...I just wasn't sure if it was worth the $100 or less difference.

Thanks Guys!

As Chico mentioned:for alot of products (like cars), the MSRP in Canada is quite a bit higher than that of US. That's why alot of people try to buy from US.

3-4 weeks ago i was at this Missisauga (Streetsville) shop, and the guy agreed to $300 a piece, so 1200+tax for all 4, installed+balanced. I believe they were Falkens, not too sure.

I just bought a pair of T1R's from a place in Ohio for $500US shipped. We'll see what the brokerage ends up being.
