Congrats on the car. Sound like you got exactly the car you wanted. Did you have it inspected? 35k sounds like a great deal for a 6mt (coupe? still sounds pretty good if it's a sedan) though it does kind of hurt when a person sees what they pay down in the US.
I seriously considered purchasing a used WRX when I had a year of school left. I had a decent amount of $ saved up from summer/temp work but my bank wasn't very hot on the idea. So I would have needed a co-signer I guess. Amazing how their attitude changes when you have a steady salary. I was also amazed with what insurance companies were charging for insurance on the G35s. I was paying less than $100 per month when I was 24.

35K CDN isn't all that different in US dollars. There's insane markups for new cars in Canada and the used cars are price/sold accordingly.
$35K CDN = $30434 USD @ 1.15% conversion rate...the rates aren't a big deal, it's just that americans have a bigger market so they sell for less. It's completely unfair but it's life!
My insurance wasn't too bad, it's around $980/semi-annually. I have a clean record, good student discount and driving school discount on it. I am 22 btw. State farm was definitely the cheapest out there.
I am gonna have nightmares of stalling my coupe...man!!! can't wait! haha. Everyone that I've mentioned it to reacts like "whoa ur getting an infiniti.." I suppose that's what happens when you live in 'scarlem' haha. Also, do you guys have people judge you based on your g35? It's kinda irritating...anyways. can't wait! g'night!

i was 22 when i got my G 3 years ago...you will likely get a lot of "is that your dads car?"
good choice on color too, don't let anyone tell you OB isn't the best

Today I was at Eaton Centre and bought some lunch from Jugo Juice. A smoothie, sandwich, and bottle of water...total was $6.66. The attendant and I had a good laugh Originally Posted by God|ZIlla168

So, did you pick it up? Pretty sweet isn't it? I'll bet your face is gonna be plastered with an ear-to-ear grin all weekend long. When you become a P.Eng try Meloche Monnex for insurance as they have an excellent group policy because of the large membership base. They've got great rates and their service has been top-notch from my own personal experience. Oops, I forgot to mention that was another benefit of a P.Eng designation.

looool, why is it that all asians go to U. waterloo...? 4 yrs and its a mystery to me. I'm like the only non-asian guy in so many of my classes...even the profs are asian...sometimes the prof starts speaking chineese too....
you made a smart choice not goin to loo man...hahaha
OK. so i got my G and damn...........................is it ever nice. I spent friday night learning how to drive stick and was comfortable enough to drive it back to kingston today. It's a pretty good feeling once you get the feel for it. What sucks is that i still have random brain farts and I still stall the car at the most awkward times...argggh but I am sure i can only improve..i mean it is my second day of driving stick! oh and i got owned when i went to fill up my car, i was looking for the gas release hatch for like 15 minutes until i ended up just calling up the previous owner...haha..! and why didn't anyone tell me that the car's such a gas guzzler! oh well, still no regrets. I also put new potenza tires on the front , that cost me like...$880 after tax/labor...iam so broke now :/ all in all a good weekend...now time to start studying
