ScanGauge II 3-in-1
Hey guys. I got rid of my OBD2 Scanner, and I’m thinking about buying a ScanGauge II for myself. Anyone here have any experience with it? I thought it would add a lot of utility for about the same price (or less) as just a Scanner, especially since I don’t regularly use my Scanner.
It’s a multi use Scanner/Gauge that you can mount in your car or use in several vehicles that does multiple things in addition to the usual stuff:
Trip Computer:
» Maximum Speed
» Average Speed
» Maximum Coolant Temperature
» Maximum RPM
» Driving Time
» Driving Distance
» Fuel Used
» Trip Fuel Economy
» Distance to Empty
» Time to Empty
» Fuel to Empty
Real Time Digital Gauge:
» Fuel Economy
» Fuel Rate
» Battery Voltage
» Coolant Temperature
» Intake Air Temperature
» Engine Speed (RPM)
» Vehicle speed (MPH or Km/hr)
» Manifold Pressure
» Engine Load
» Throttle Position
» Ignition Timing
» Open/Closed Loop
Scan Tool:
» Reads Trouble Codes
» Reads conditions that set the Trouble Code
» Clears Trouble Codes
» Turns off "Check Engine" light
» Tells you when vehicle is "Ready" to pass OBDII testing
» Make and store up to 10 rewritable special codes to send to the vehicle computer
» “Data captured when the Trouble Code was set can be recalled to help troubleshoot the problems (was the temperature hot or cold, speed high or low, etc.).”
The reviews about them seem quite positive: http://www.andybrain.com/archive/scangauge-review.htm and seems popular with the VW guys: http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=143973 and the Prius and Hybrid owners: http://priuschat.com/ScanGauge-II-Group-Buy-t29738.html, and a couple other Tuner Forums that I browsed.
I can get it at a good price, and I thought if any of you are interested, I could ask what the members here could get one for.

I'm not sure yet as I'll have to ask. I believe I've seen them in Canada for about $225 or so as a Retail price. I'm thinking your price would be about $190 or maybe a bit less.
Considering my old Equus 3100 retails for $149USD, and MSRP is $249 in Canada, it looks like the ScanGauge would be a pretty good deal, even at Retail.
