Anyone know what the G and the 35 stand for?

I think G stands for GT, and 35 stand for 3.5 L engine.
As in japan, it is called Skyline 350GT.

Oh absolutely. The G most likely stands for Gt etc..and obviosuly the 35 relates to 3.5 litre.

Sorry but I don't think so. The FX, G, I, J, M, Q & QX are just series. The number designates the engine displacement. Nothing more.
