Hi. I'm planning on ordering a black 6mt coupe for delivery in early spring. I really don't want the rear spoiler but the configuration that I want for the rest of the car includes this part by default. I was wondering if anyone has, or will have, a black trunk lid without a spoiler that they want to trade for one with the spoiler?

 

I hope that you realise that without the spoiler you also do not have a rear high brake light. You have to install one which means that you have to replace the rear parcel shelf. All that because you do not like the look of the spoiler???

Dude, simply put the Manual comes with the unattractive looking spoiler, and the Automatic does not. You have no control over this, and there is no option for this. Both types of transmission come fixed with or without spoiler, and only depends on transmission, and of course whether its a performance package or not.

i also DIDNT like the spoiler look. note the past tense. but after i went to the dealership and saw it in person. MAN!!! that bad boy looks real sweet. have you actually gone to the dealership and seen it. also, i saw a black g35 with aero package...it looks real nice in black. maybe the colour makes a difference to some people. but honestly, it looks NOTHING like the pictures on the net. besides, 6mt is more fun to drive. anyway, if you really want the trunk swap, there is no reason why the dealership cannot switch it with another one on the lot. the guy im dealing with at guelph infiniti was going to do it for me NO QUESTIONS ASKED. if they want your business they should accomodate you. and not charge you extra. hope this helps

 

Thanks, one of the dealers here in Vancouver has a customer who wants the automatic with the spoiler and so the salesperson is looking into the possibility of doing a swap of the trunk and parcel shelf. (and dude, simply put I know the 6mt comes with the spoiler which is why I am looking to get rid of it)

 

I have to agree, I didnt like the spoiler look and ended up getting a 5a with the Aero and spoiler because the Red looks better with it. I still dont like the spoiler on any other colour because the red tail lights stand out and the shape of both look off together. If nothing else keep the spoiler for the added downforce.

 

not to mention, you can negotiate a cheaper price since the dealer cost is that much cheaper. the spoiler goes for 504 US$ MSRP on the infiniti.com web site. who knows about canadian price. i've heard around $800 MSRP. the bottom line is it's your personal preference.

 

well the spoiler option or package also comes with undercarriage diffusers which help counter lift.
