Buying extended warranty in Canada

I convinced a friend to buy a 2003 G35. It has 70,000 Km's on it. He wants to buy the extended warranty because of some bad experiences with his last car. The two options presented by the dealer were:

An additional 2 years from expiration of original warranty or:
1. 100,000 Kms -- $2150
2. 160,000 Kms -- $2550

Has anyone purchased an extended warranty before and is this in line with what you paid? Also, any dealerships out there that can beat these prices?

Yikes!

that's a ton of money - I would skip it. He'd have to have some real serious damage to recoup that. The G's are quite reliable, I don't think this would be worthwhile.

I wanted to resurect this thread to get a sense of what "major" problems people have had with their G35 that would have been covered under an extended warranty had they bought it. Anyone willing to share their grief?!

Also, anyone here buy a non-Infiniti extended warranty? How much did you pay and who was it with? Was it worth it?

Brad that is a lot of money, I personally would rather put that money towards an RRSP or spend it on a nice set of wheels.

Good advice....Not worth the money..............

Unless you will keep the car longer than 4 years and worry, fret and stress over it after the warranty expires, the money could be way better spent....IMHO.
