Falken 452 vs. Toyo T1R
Falken 452 vs. Toyo T1R
I know, I know, but i wanted to see what the Canadian guys would say. Or if they had any experiences with both.
Alright i need a new rear tire due to a nail
So I will be replacing both rears now.
The Falkens is about $264 cheaper.
Read some good and bad things about both tires.
What is surprising is that even though the Falken's are cheaper, a lot of people like them.
Major difference between is that the Falken is more comfotable to ride on and therefore a little handling is given up vs the stock Bridgestones. The T1R's are much better in handling than stock and falken's.
I just need to know if the falken will be more than sufficient for me.
This will be on a mix setup of stock up front and falken's on rear.
225/40/19 Front
245/40/19 Rear

FWIW I am running Falken 452's on my car 245/35/19 and 275/35/19 I like them no complaints. I dont drive my car hard so i can really feel the difference between these and the PS2 I had before.
i have the toyo's, but Z's had crappy stock tires, so driving on toyo's was a night and day difference for me. the tires were more quiet, absorbed the road bumps better, and way better traction (thou my oem's were running thin on tread, and i got wider tires).
In the rain, the toyo handles it like a champ. I have absolutely no complaints about these tires. Nothing but positives when compared to the OEM Z tires.

I've got the FK-452's on my OEM 19's. It's a great tire, but for me they are a little hard. Handling suffers a bit. I'll be going for some Bridgestone Pole Positions next time around.

So with the Falken's being a harder compound, it will last longer.
But a little handling is given up. From what i read, it is not much for people to be complaining about.

my stock tires gave out after around 30k km's, i'll have to see how long these toyo's lasts. I'm hoping they last longer than the OEMs.
