I'll add that I don't think there is some conspiracy to harm Canadians down there, but there's definitely been a number of incidents in the last year or so. I've never once felt unsafe any time that I have been there and would definitely go back

the mexicans are just mad at all the Canadian tourists, especially ones in their early twenties are coming down with money and hogging all their mama cita's!! thats what happened with that other white guy who got beaten and killed... obviously a mexican girl is gonna pay more attention to tourists who throw money around rather than broke *** mexicans livin there...
most of my friends have been to mexico more than once... all guys in our early twenties.. and they have a lot of fun with the girls down there and tell me the guys there cause problems mostly cuz of this reason..

Will never catch me going to Mexico.
It is not the factor that people are getting murdered it is the point that the authorities don't give a rats *** unless you pay them off.

Sorry if a government is that corrupt they will not see me there. After everything that has happened in the media with Mexico you think they might actually care enough to put more safe guards in . They don't care if you leave a live as long as you get there with a full wallet.

My Mom and Dad winter in AZ with this guy's folks. He is/was a family guy so I doubt he was tomcattin' the senoritas.

I've been thinking of a family trip to Mexico next winter, now I'm not so sure. Do they really not want our money down there? That's really stupid.

I think the crimes are more popular away from the resorts. But its just an educated guess. I went down there last year, and toured the Riviera Maya with 4 other couples. We had no problems until we went to the bar scene one night. Almost got into some bad trouble defending our wives at one point out on the street waiting for a taxi...

If Canadians are worried about Mexicans, they better avoid the US.

Things are just a little 'lax' in Mexico right now for me to go anywhere near it.

I came to that conclusion months ago, but apparantly it hasn't put many off at all.

It's time for our government to make an official statement and make some very serious recommendations.

C.

Heck I have been there the last couple of years and I felt safer there than a few other places I have been. I was hoping on going for 3 or 4 weeks next winter. It does make one wonder though. I have seen more violence when in Florida or even Toronto.
