Nashville Predators sold to Jim Balsillie?

Looks like it might happen. Wow. Think he'll bring them to Canada?

Just think, Toronto could have an NHL team!

They're talking Kansas City (ewww) or Kitchener. Interesting choices.

I saw that recently in the paper. He does seem bent of purchasing a team and has said he'd love the purchased team to come here.

hahahaha, LOL about a team in TO.......jokes abound about that....

.......I believe if a team wants to come closeby here, that Toronto and Buffalo at least would have to give their OK first.

I'm watching SportCenter right now and it's a topic to be talked about. Sounds like it's a go but where to?????

Waterloo is outside of the boundaries for Toronto and Buffalo, so Balsillie wouldn't need approval other than from the league to do the move in the first place.

this could be great news if the move happens. Overpriced Leafs tickets wouldn't be a concern any longer...

Here's a pretty good read about the potential deal:

Yeah, interesting stuff. I also read somewhere else there is a move to try and resurect a team in Winnipeg. I can't see it myself.

The first thing when I heard about it I thought Winnipeg...But the fact that they built a new that is too small for an NHL team I doubt the team would go there.

Little late here, but I'm so glad the Preds are still in Nashville. The way all those local investors came together to buy the team was great.

Go Preds!

I think it would be nice if the team were in a city where they don't have to prefix 'hockey' with 'ice' to identify the sport they are talking about.

What's that supposed to mean? I have never heard "ice hockey" mentioned along with the "Predators" name. The only time that is used is when one needs to specify that it's an actual ice hockey game, rather than an inline hockey game, which is growing more and more popular. If you think that the Nashville hockey fans are in some way less affluent with the game than fans of other teams, you are badly mistaken.

Go Preds

Six, relax, just having my fun. Bit of a generalization but in my experience most Americans DGAF about hockey and a lot of them do call it "ice hockey". That said, the fact that I pissed you off tells me you are a fan, so good on ya. Nashville does seem to do a good job of supporting their team.
