Off topic; opinions needed

Hey guys - so some lady hit my car today and killed my rear bumper. No biggy I guess, she's insured. So my question is do I go with a stock replacement, or aftermarket. I like the aftermarket one, my wife hates it - she says it looks ricey and will make my ***** smaller or something. Thoughts on the two?

Stock:

aftermarket:

I'd leave the diffuser matte black, since my wheels and front grille is matte black. There is almost no difference in price.

Lord knows I will probably go stock since my wife will beat me... but I like the aftermarket one. Someone tell me it's ricey and you hate it.

I wouldn't say I hate it but honestly the stock unit does look better IMHO. It's harder to tell because of the two tone one shown. I definitely don't like that. From the pic the diffuser disappears and just looks like a big gap which I don't like.

Interesting scenario, my wife wouldn't get a vote on my car. ..but she wouldn't care either.

Another pic of the aftermarket rear, darker color, so more like mine.

Deane - ya, I shouldn't have asked honestly. I bet $10 had I not she never would have noticed. Live and learn.

Sidenote - what about the sideskirts? Thoughts on those, similar to stock, just a bit wider.

Lol Kevin, that's the difference with being married 18 years and together for over 20.

That's a better picture. I like the side skirt much better but still would probably stay stock. It kind of matches the Bangle creases and edges. One of the big things I don't like on the bumper is the 4 "buttons" which look like back up sensors.

From the views I've seen, I'd say I like stock better.......I'm really impressed with its looks right out of the box, bro...so improving it for me would be difficult...

Sorry to hear of the 'bumper bender'....hope the repairs go well and your baby is back together again soon....

+1 on the fender bender Kevin. It pissed me when I had to replace my front bumper.

Damn it, it's the principle.

I'm gonna say aftermarket. It's not tacky, and would nicely differentiate your car.

Stock is my choice Kevin for the rear bumper, although I do prefer the aftermarket side skirt .
That sucks about another hit, are these people after you or what

Ouch! Sorry Kevin. I like the scoop in the stock bumper. It lets the tips peak out just right.

Sorry to hear about the bender, Kevin... thank goodness it's just the bumper.

+1 on the OE, ......sounds like a consensus to me;
JMO but the other is just trying to hard.

What about getting them to cut the OE for some twin tips?
