Is it easy to replace rotors and brake pads?

I have one place that is charging me for $350.... installing 4 rotors and brake pads... the dealer asks for $480.....

but i have a friend who is willing to do it for $100.......the only reason that is holding me back to do it with my friend ..... he never had a g35 in his shop before. If its an easy task... then i'm sure he can do it but... if its hard... i'd rather go do it at the dealer.....

if your buddy knows what's he's doing, it should not be all that hard.

 

It's not hard -- provided you've done it b4 (on any car).....
About a 5 on a 10 scale.....

If your friend knows his way around a shop and a tool box, he should be fine......

If you know what you're doing it is quite easy. Only trick on my rear rotor was removing one of the caliper bolts but otherwise easy. After I was done though I did pop into Oakville Infiniti and they suggested a brake service. Only $80 and that way I know a professional has checked my work and should be good to go.

I have a special tool for popping the rotor off, if it's seized on. I'll share it since we are all G brother's here ... take a 2x4 about 2 foot long and tap the rotor and it will just pop off.

Just remember to check that your emergency brake is released Because if it isn't ....... do all the rotor whacking you want, it still won't move.
