Looks like it was a little dampish.......We're headed there on Wednesday for the AAE, and may encounter some precip.......hope not....

The Evo is a sweet ride and would scoot well around there. You could have given him a good run in the G tho.........

I was there yesterday for the first time! ... in my serengeti sand G35x! HAHAHAHAHA ... I might add, the most luxurious car out on the track ... holy cow, talk about four wheel drifts ... soooooo much fun, but is it supposed to drive like that? There's no way the G can turn like those stock Civic Si or the RX-8 (or even the Sentra Spec-V) with not even a tire squealing even though they can't match the G's acceleration on exits or the straights. I think even if I wasn't wearing those Turanzas, it'd still drift.

Nice pictures.

Did you happen to see a really really slow moving little gray Miata thing holding everyone up? That was me!

I had the G out last month at Shanny and found out the same thing. The car oversteers like mad! A little too much for my taste Good to know the X version does it too.

I found that Shannonville is too small and turns too tight for the G, better suited for smaller cars. That or I just plain suck at driving

Well, I think the only difference is that the X tugs the front in for you everytime you oversteer so that's why I always get a four wheel drift effect in the corners. It's really fun because it's controllable and predictable but not necessary the fastest way to pull through corners. Now I wonder how the coupe (or the Z) drives in Shannonville ...

I agree - The subcompacts couldn't touch us on corner exits nor the straights so I think if there are more straights, the G woud shine a bit brighter.

Actually my experience is the contrary. It's an understeering boat at the limit.

I think that's the general consensus.

Well I do fully accept operator error on my part.

Could the staggered tires on the coupes make a difference though?

I was getting the oversteer mid corner and at corner exit, under pretty steady or slowly increasing throttle.

Stock wise, the car has more of an under steer characteristic (from my own experience as well as best-motoring reviews)

If anything, the staggered setup in the coupe will only make the understeering worse.

However, I do agree that maybe because of the suspension geometry or if it was the Diff (I have vlsd alreadY), it is pretty hard to push the G out of a corner wihtout losing the tail.

So, when is the next track event? =)
