Parking Enforcement getting aggressive, ticket you while you are in the car

Parking enforcement is getting extremely aggresive, while waiting for my friend to grab something in Dominion I parked along the side of the street in North York.

Parking enforcement walked straight up to my car while looking at me in the eye and started writing up a ticket, I pretty much was like "what the heck are you doing, I'm leaving?"

He was extermely mouthy and stood right infront of my car so I couldn't drive away, I was sure if i could reverse and drive away as I was thinking he was a semi-cop or something. Now reading up on things i see i could've left.

Anyhow the smart semi-cop got the wrong license plate and didn't put a expiry date as well, what do I do with the ticket??

1) Just leave it be since it has the wrong plate but can they still link it to me?

or

2) Fight it but wil they say "oh look just 1 digit off, you're still getting the ticket"

Thanks

are you sure he was looking you in the eye? I dont think he can see much of anything if he can't even copy down a few letters onto a piece of paper correctly :P

hmmmmm.. that's weird.. i can't picture where u were.. but being just 2 meters away from a stop sign seems odd. in any case.. sounds like he was being a pr1ck... as long as it doesn't say 'no standing' and your in the car for not too long.. u should have been ok.

Maybe it's one of those new no idle rules?

They should go to Tim Horton and give those people in drive through those tickets mauahahahaha.
I know it doesn't work that way because it is private property but it would be funny to see.

I think that for a ticket to be valid they have to either hand it to you directly or leave them on your windshield under the wiper. If you drive away before they can do either of those, then does it still valid?

If I were in the same situation I'd just ignore it. Like others say it might be tough to link it to you with the wrong license plate.

Whatever you do don't tell them about the errors that he made until you have to because otherwhys they'll thank you and just fix them in advance. If you do end up having to fight it, wait until you're in court to point out the glaring, careless errors. The guy who wrote it probably won't even show up for the court date anyway (do they have to?).
