Aftermarket navi

So im really starting to regret not getting the Navi option when i purchased the car. It seems that the only thing missing is the Navi.

So i've started to look into aftermarket GPS navigations.
My question is, which GPS type and model would best fit right into the area where the stock Navi would have gone. I want to be able to close the lid even when the aftermarket navi is installed.

Im sure this has been covered a million times on driver, but cant find any posts on this.

Does anybody have any picture(s) of their modification?

Do you guys think its even possible to put a fit aftermarket navi, and still be able to close the lid?

Thanks

The Gamin Nuvi would be worth checking into.

^ wow that looks good.

I dont think im ready to change the factory look on the console..at least not yet. Would much rather add something in then to swap the console.

That looks really great though!!

Thanks for the compliments.

I guess you're looking into something like this:
http://store.mp3car.com/SearchResult...x=0&Search.y=0

You could try it out. I've looked into this a little but I've only seen one or two done.
I went with my setup because I had more resources to research on it.
Since more people pulled this off, I felt it was safer, more reliable, and easier.
Not many people have put an aftermarket nav where the stock nav should be.
I didn't want to be one of the first guinea pigs to try it out and fail.

IMO, the stock navi sucks. It's cool how it disappears at the touch of a button, but the navi itself isn't as good as others on the market.
