Any '07 G35S in Calgary game for an 18" rim test?
I'm looking to purchase a set of factory 2007 G35S 18" rims for my 2007 G35x and would like to try the factory rears on all 4 corners to check for clearance issues before proceeding.
Since the x can't have different size tires front-to-back due to the AWD and there's a tiny diameter difference on the staggered wheels I'd like to get two pairs of the wider rear rims. Tire size to be determined.
Any generous souls? I have a few nice bottles of single malt to share...
Cheers,
Anthony

Anthony I am running 8.5 X 18 front and back with a 42mm offset I am also running 245/45/18 front and back with no clearance issues on my 07X.
The only difference on your new wheels is they are 50mm offset. Obviously the backs will fit no problem, if the fronts did'nt clear on the inside you could always run a spacer up front or all around. They should look good. I think they would look better tucked out anyways with the addition of a 10mm spacer.

Thanks - that's good info.
I may be tempted to aftermarket wheels but would need to check if the factory TPMS senders would fit.
I also want to lower the car a little (~1" all around). Gonna spend some $$$ next spring.
Cheers,
Anthony

Stealerships will always take the premium price - I was thinking used. Not sure if the TPMS will fit aftermarket wheels.
19"s are a bit much for my taste and comfort requirements (OFC member card in the mail
) and would put me in a higher $$ range for tires.

Plenty to consider. I like the look of the factory 18s and the aftermarket choices are mind-boggling. Do you know who makes a quality lightweight (possibly forged) wheel for reasonable $$?
Right now, I just need to get those ****e Goodyears off - they're useless in the snow and dangerous on ice. Looking at a set of Michelin PA2 in the factory size.

I've heard good things about the PA2s, another good one to check out is Nokian Hakkapeliitta RSi's. I have Toyo Observe Garit KX Tires and they worked out quite well last year.

Just ordered 4 Michelin Pilot Alpin 2 (PA2) from Tire Rack. Likely saved around $350 by the time they arrive and I get them mounted.
For the summer wheels, I really like 5 spoke designs with fat, flat spokes that curve back to the center of the car and have deep (really deep) machined lips. Like these:

Any other suggestions welcome.

But back OT, I'm partial to five-spokes (I actually have two sets of stock sport fives) or split fives.

Now I have a further dilemma: I'd like wheels that are hub-centric without need for centering rings, maybe something forged (for strength and lightness), and not made in China. Have I set my sights too high?
I had these AC Schnitzer Type 1s on my old M5 and am spoiled for the look, lightness and strength:
