Thinking of selling the G
Thinking of selling the G
Hey guys, I'm thinking of selling my car
but I'm not sure of the best way to do it. Should I strip everything off (Turbo's, suspension, brakes, exhaust, Alpine/JL system, wheels) and try and get it back to stock looking or do I try to sell it as is?
If I sell it as is, where is the best place to list it? I could be wrong but I don't think too many people will want to buy a modded car.
In case you are wondering why I'm selling it, it's because I'm just getting tired of it and I hardly drive it anymore. Since we moved out to the country, everytime I drive it it gets full of bugs and crap on the highway and I'm getting tired of cleaning it. It's only got about 45k on it so I should be able to get a good price for it. I haven't had any real problems with it and the motor runs great.
Help!!!!!

I can't believe you want to sell.
If that doesn't work for you, I would strip it back to stock. At least remove the turbos and sell them separately.

sorry to see you go Sam.. but I would suggest at least return the car to semi stock, i.e. take away the turbo and exhaust...
I know it will be harder to sell the parts in Canada, but I think it is even harder to try find someone buy a modified car...
Good luck bro!

Heck Sam that is too bad you are selling your car, but I can understand how things change, and I am sure we will see you something else just as impressive in the future.
I agree with the others it probably would be better to remove the big ticket items to sell separately, and put the car a bit closer to stock
So are you going to join us on our next cruise in your Hummer

Thanks for the replies guys, like I said I'm "thinking" of selling it. I know I'll lose a ton of money if I do so I have to think about this carefully.
Thanks for the link Bill. I did'nt even know that site existed and I don't think the turbos would work in the Hummer. It only has 5 cylinders.
I'll keep you posted if I decide to start taking things apart or sell it as is.
I'm thinking if I sell the Hummer and the G35 then I can get a more luxurious car that I can drive year round and not have to worry about the cops everytime I go for a drive.

Hey Sammy,
I know what you mean about the driving it and cleaning it. With my last car I lived in the country and my street was a dirt road. It drove me nuts never been able to keep any car looking decent....then I moved to the city( 5 years ago).
If you do sell I think you've got the right idea to return it completely to stock condition making it much easier to sell. Very few people want to buy a car with mods IMHO. You'll also probably do better financially being able to get the most from the G and from the individual parts. I expect there would be some demand for all of your nice goodies too.

Wow...
Come home to find this
Pretty hard to imagine the Canadian G community w/o the JL coupe
Can't add much to what's already been posted,
except to agree about parting out for your best return on what you've put in.
Good luck, which ever way you decide to go Sam.
