Mod Friendly Insurance Companies???

Can anyone recommend an insurance company that is "mod friendly"?

Otherwise I might be parting out with my car come springtime

lol My friend join the club.
Just finished looking for insurance in Alberta.
I have a G35 coupe with a TT set up on a built motor, Appraised at 60+ and I have still the body to do.

I found the only company that will insure late model cars with lots of mods.
I had to get my car insurance from a company or underwriter called facility. My quote was 3008.00$ a year and that with 9+ year of no tix or at fault claims. I am 27.

I only drive the coupe maybe 6 months tops a year, Collision insurance is half of that and Comp is 875 a year only through AMA.
There are ways to get it insured you must first have an appraisal done. Insurance is based on the value.

GO to AMA buy a membership 128.95 and ask for a quote on facility insurance for your G.

AMA? What's that or better, who are they? Would it be similar to the APA( automobile protection Association)?

Thanks.

I wonder why you have to part your car? is your insurance asking you to de-mod?

Yes , I was wondering the same thing Bill. What is your company saying, you don't have any extreme mods?

Lowering springs!!!!

In their eyes, its a "modification that could cause me to lose control of my car if I hit a bump in the road".

What a bunch of BS!!

It looks like I will have to get my car appraised and then go to a company that specializes in custom cars.( Silver Wheel plan etc...)

I asked dubbletrubble about it. The same response came back to him from his underwriter.

My insurance company( State Farm) wants me to put back the OEM springs and everything will be ok with them.

I am just curious how did it happen to you in the first place? like they "requested" to inspect your car or something?

It states on my policy that I would not be covered if in an accident if I had any modifications done on the car( ex: springs, high flow air box, other engine mods). They automatically think that you are racing the vehicle.

I have a Stillen Gen 2 exhaust and they said that its not a problem.

My agent wanted to see the car when I started to question their policy. I'm just being honest with them but it sounds like I screwed myself by telling them.
I just do not want to "not" be covered if in an accident.

Hey Bill....
I managed to get approval for lowering.
They told me if BMW approved of it, they would be OK with it.
& I think it was partially the OF age thing.....

What I did was get a quote from a mod friendly dealer to install H&Rs.
Then sent a copy in.

Also...
What about installing 350Z springs.... they're OE.

From what I understood, anything not originally on the purchased vehicle is considered " a performance change from OEM".

I will pass that by my insurance company and see what they say. I might be taking a trip out to Oakville...

Just a heads-up for that State Farm can be really tricky to deal with...

My suggestion is to get an official documented installation of the 350Z springs from a dealership, stating clearly that it is also an OEM part...
