Unhappy I need new doors.... (crazy!!)

I was getting an oil change at Cambridge Nissan yesterday, I had mentioned to she service Manager that I noticed a rust bubble on the drivers side Black pillar and was wondering if Infinity had warranty coverage on rust & corrosion, he told me yes for 5 years unlimited km he also mentioned that he used to work at Oakville Infinity and they would cover it. Now here's the shocking part he said they would probably give me all new doors because this was a common problem for the 04' - 05' sedans. I'm not sure I like that solution 1. because its a repaint and we all know its not as good as factory 2. because they may not match the paint perfectly and 3. I can't be without a car for that long unless they give me a courtesy car.
Have any of you guys experienced this problem?

Roy, I'll send you a PM about another fellow who had his doors replaced on his 03 in the last year. You can contact him and see how he got along with the replacement.

if they were to repaint, wouldn't it be with factory paint? sounds like a good deal to me.

Roy's worried about fade from the 3-4 yr old paint on the car compared to the fresh OEM paint they'll put on the new doors.........

Roy, I'd say if it were a bad match that they'd do the rest of the car to make it match........Might want to check that out beforehand......

Clearcoated paints don't fade; if they look faded it's due to marring on the surface. As long as they have the paint code and can match any metallic, you'll be fine.

And here we have the guy that can take out any swirling you might have on your factory original panels, just to help match with the new door paint.

Good to see ya Kev! Keeping busy this past summer?

Oh, I bought a silver Murano, judging by how easy that colour is to keep clean, I may only be by to see ya once in a blue moon!

To the OP, I'm sure Greg Vann Nissan will do an excellent job and that they'll take care of you. I dealt with them when I had my Maxima and they were nothing short of excellent. How big is the bubble that you're concerned with?

Can you please post up a pic of the rusting if you have one, I think I have a similar rust bubble on the driver's side door pillar that is getting worse and I should probably get taken care of. I was going to take it to a body shop cause I didn't think it would be covered under warranty but if it is then that's great.

I read about the Murano, nice choice. Great summer, very busy. You?

Rust warranty is 7, not 5 years. I have the same problem and reluctant to do the work because of paint match concerns.

Rust due to perforation from the inside out has been extended to 10yrs/unlimited.

Most paint jobs requires blending of the fore/aft panels to the best of my knowledge so you can't tell. They replaced 3 of my doors and basically repainted both sides of the car.

Just an update , my friend went to woodchester and they took some pics and submitted the pics to nissan hq. He waited 1 week and they approved replacing 2 doors for free when only the drivers rear was showing rust on the pillar. Not sure which 2 doors but he is really happy and also only bought the car 3 weeks ago and it had some collision work on the car before he bought it but none to the doors.
