Does it seem like no Canadians Mod their G's
Never been caught with it yet (knock on wood) but I only use it at night on the highway. I turn it off in the city plus I have the conceal display in the ashtray so that it does not look like is on.
Is it useful yes, safed my *** 2 times already but you really need to be aware of your surroundings (meaning you need to know if the place you travel tends to have cops) otherwise I would not recommend you getting it. If you get caught you get a nice $150 ticket and the radar taken away. Please note the V1 is not a laser jammer or anything.

for parts and install.
i'd probably say it has a lot to do with disposable income, which canadians generally have less of than americans, especially in quebec, with the taxes and what not.
add in that the cars cost more, the parts cost more, and there's not as much experience, it's not a conductive environment for modding.
and i suppose it's also market demographic, i'm actually waiting at the dealership for some work to get done, and i think there's only one other guy under 40 here, not your usual "modders".

Don't go Super Charged please you will hav e nothing but issues. Read the forums about the S/C setup from Vortech.
I have found a local shop to do all my major mods. EX-Inifinti mechanic.
THey did a great job on the car. However they did not tune it for me and that is where i am having issues.
My mod list is about 3 pages now and most of them I had no issues.
I buy alot form the US and almost nothing from canada so far.
PM me if you want the info of that shop in calgary

I haven't been to Tunerworks in ages! The last time I was there the botched my exhaust install...and it was on a civic...how hard could it be?! Then again, that WAS like 6 years ago. Maybe I should give them another chance.
I'm getting prepped for the Vortech in the summer. Trying to actually source out a shop in Washington to do the work. Only 1100km drive to a shop that has been installing Superchargers since 1975. :-D Road trip baby, road trip!
I just got my RacingBrake BBK's installed. Black calipers, looks like stock...just the way I like it.
Working on a custom dual-dual tip (quad tip I guess?) exhaust. Found some nice cannisters that are super thin so going to try to build a heatshield below the fuel vaporizer to allow the new cannister on the passenger side.
Getting all the stuff done in the summer as right now the g's fully winterized for our fine weather here. Raised back on stock springs and winter tires on stock 17's. Looks like any other base G on the block...keeps the boys in blue at bay. ;-)

Stupid taxes! End of the day, even with all my tax evasion tactics ;-) I'm still paying like 30% taxes on my income. Oh what I could do with another 20g's a year...the possibilities...

Guys, stop with the stereotyping of people over 40 who own G's! Mine isn't completely stock and I'm well over 40.
pjames, I pretty much agree with what you said about modding although US folks on average don't really make much more than Canadians. It's just that the population is so much larger so it is a lot bigger market of mod consumers. As well here in Canada I think weather plays a factor with performance, wheel, tire and suspension mods here in the GWN.

i'm not saying that people over 40 don't mod, just aren't the usual suspects, in fact, they are probably the ones most able to, families are older, have generally more disposable income, and given today's generation, had been hot-rodding or building bikes in their youth and look to recapture some of that...

I was trying to figure out how to make this turbo fit though...
