Yeah, that's what I was saying earlier. I suppose there are a lot of them around and they must be easy to jack. They're not worth much so has to be more joyriders or as faston said, they're used in other crimes.

The vans are easy to start and steal. My wife surprised a youth ( he must have had a lookout) at our local mall a few years back who was in the process of jacking ours. As we later found out buy a tow truck operator. A long rod with a tapered screw end and a sliding weight screwed into the ignition will pop it out and a screwdriver will do the job of a key. He lent me the screwdriver and I drove it home. He was on another call. Drove the van for about a week like that until I took it to the body shop.
Well, now you all know.
Oh yeah, he used a screwdriver to pop out the door handle and open the door.
Cop said "gone in 80 seconds. Timing is everything.

In the last 3 years we had 2 different Caravans (90's vintage) stolen from our office parking lot. Both were joy-ride/dumped with little to no damage. Easy to steal is part of it - I think you can break into these vans using a comb.

Wow, it definitely sounds that way. I wonder if my '05's are any different. At least they have immobilizers.
