selling a car so soon is going to cost you, and i mean really cost you. even on a private sale it would be difficult to get as much as you may want.

sounds like you just have the itch for something new, rather than not liking the g. what would you want to replace it?

Deane: Excellent idea. Although, if/when I sell the Z, the car that tops my list is a 335 (coupe is preferred but with my 8 month old son a sedan is more practical) this car can hang out in the garage, and also be driven year-round. We'll see what happens next spring.

interalian/Anthony: 328xi sounds like solid, practical choice and will still be a ton of fun. Are you buying it from the BMW Gallery/Calgary BMW monopoly or looking stateside?

After careful consideration, I think I'll hang onto the G for a while - perhaps lust for a new car was a case of the winter blahs...

Like was said above, it's not likely to lose much more value in the next ~year so I might as well get some more use out of it first. The pi$$er here is that I'll need to put some more $$ into it for summer wheels or just swap out the winters to the OE A/S tires and risk another bout of rim damage from the re-mount.

I was looking at a pre-owned (14,000km) '07 328xi at the Gallery. It had the options I wanted, right down to colour and their ask was pretty reasonable. As for their monopoly, I think it's wrong for a dealer to run two in the same city where theirs are the only dealers - fine if there are several others run by separate firms. The only positive thing is proximity, which, as a resident of Tuscany, speaks well for Crowfoot based dealers. Pity there's no Infiniti dealer in the NW - major PITA for service...
