Canadian Mall incident! Bizarre hockey stick attack in mall Pregnant woman

A 37-year-old man is facing multiple charges after half a dozen people, including a pregnant woman, were assaulted with a hockey stick at City Centre Mall.

Police say the bizarre incident unfolded at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, when a man approached a pregnant woman and began speaking to her.

Though police don't believe they knew one another, he then swung the hockey stick, hitting her on the head.

"She fell to the ground and was struck again," police described in a statement. "The male began attacking several other men and women with the stick.

"A total of six people, including two security guards who took him into custody, were assaulted."

The man was detained under the Mental Health Act and taken to hospital, where police spokesman Karen Carlson said an assessment will determine if the six charges of assault with a weapon and one count of possession of a weapon will be laid.

The victims all received minor injuries, including the pregnant woman, who was treated and released.

I can just picture it:
A new $4B hockey stick registry, acquisition certificates for sticks and ammunition (I mean pucks),
carry permits to get to the rink and an amnesty for us old farts turn in our unused vintage (wooden) weaponry.

Haha, nice one!

Thanks for the post Cash. I especially love the shot of the Hansons from Slapshot. That was a great movie way back when.
