Hi all, I'm new here and wondering if I could get some friendly advice?

I'm looking at getting a used G35 6MT this spring, and had some questions on the differences...

Other than the obvious body changes, is there any other major differences between the 2006 and 2007 MY? I lean towards the 2007 on esthetics, but are there any other major differences?

Also - should I have any concerns buying a 2007, given that it is only 2 years old (or will be shortly...) I'm a little worried that the 'lemon' factor would increase if I purchased a 2007 vs 2006, as it is more likely someone traded in a car that they were having issues with.

Finally, do you only use premium (Gold) gas, or can Silver or even Bronze be used? I know the G isn't going to be a Yaris, but I like to know all my costs ahead of time.

Thanks in advance for any help!

There was a list of changes published somewhere, suffice to say the list of differences is quite extensive.....
IDK if someone else remembers a link to it.

Rememer this a 2nd gen development not a completely new car,
so lemon is non-factor IMO.

I thought the changes were made between the 2005 and 2006 model years and the 2006 and 2007 were essentially identical. I could be totally wrong of course, wouldn't be the first time. ;-)

I assumed he was talking about sedans since he mentioned the body changes.

Suggest you have a look in the '07 sedan forum. All of your answers and more will be there. The car has a lot of significant changes.

Some of the major differences on the 07s that I can think of off the top of my head are:

Navi is hard drive based with much better graphics over the 06
Navi option includes Music Box, Compact Flash slot, and voice commands
Tech package which includes backup camera, Adaptive front lighting system, and intelligent cruise control
Studio on Wheels Sound system
Push button start
Much better seats
7" LCD screen with all models
Has the new HR engine
Overall MUCH better quality interior
Much nicer gauges

There are probably more things that I am not thinking of. Overall, the 07 has much more technology than the 06 and the interior is leaps and bounds better IMO.

Also, I only use Shell V-Power 91.

Thanks for the responses... looks like 07 Sedan will be worth it, assuming I can find one! Just looking on Autotrader and there's not much out there at the moment.

Hopefully there'll be more in a few months when the 09's are released.

Yes, the 07 Sedan is more than worth the extra cost over the 06 IMO. I came from a 1st gen Sedan myself, and it's literally two different cars. I can pretty much guarantee that you won't have any regrets going with an 07 over an 06. Good luck in your search.
