actually, around here there's usually a ~6c/l difference between my folks place an hour out of town, and on the island, (well, there used to be, anyways), when prices are high there's no difference, which is usually a good indication the prices are artificial, when they fall back down the difference is there again.

i think it was about 1.17 this morning, though with the weekend coming up it always gets more expensive...

cbc news a couple days ago was saying that it might hit 1.40 this spring/summer, if oil prices hold steady and people start driving more due to the nicer weather. can't wait to bring my bike back out.

Keep in mind, that $1.40/liter was for regular gas - add your standard 12-14 cents per liter for premium...

sorry, but I just though it needed to be known...

You sure?:
$1.40*70=$98.00

$1.52*70=$106.40

Ok, you didn't specify number of liters, so I'll let that slide, but there's still quite the eye-opening difference in the numbers above.

Shouldn't you guys in Alberta be making our fuel cheaper?????????

I calculated $91 based on the number of liters I put in at my last fill up ~= 60.7L @ $1.50.

The new PC government (read liberal) wants to destroy the oil business in Alberta by increasing royalties.

I really wish that was an option for me, but it's takes approximately 30 minutes to drive to work from my house.

i kinda wish i had that option, well, biking, bit too far to walk, but no, the only way is along a highway under the air port, or around the airport, crossing another highway about 20 blocks away and zig-zagging through an industrial park with heavy traffic. which is why the bus takes at least an hour to make the trip, when it's only a 10 or so minute drive, 7 in no traffic.
so i either turn a 9 hour day into an 11 hour day, leave before seven, get home after 6, or i pay the gas man almost a tank a week, and reclaim 2 hours for myself...
