Well if i get the car under my mom's name, With rbc it's coming up to about $140. I'm just not sure if i have to add my name, and if i do add my name. than my insurance is double the amount. Still cheaper than statefarm.
I will call personal and see what they give me.

thanks guys

Yes, I'm about 14 months from OF status. Time flies when you're having fun.

WAAAAAAAY better priced than others. I'm 26, 2 tickets, 1700 a year full coverage for the 08 Gx. Perth and Dominion (CCV) were the most expensive (for my 03 tiburon and 02 camry). PC financial was the second lowest price across the board so try them after you call the personal.

Good luck.
What group are you getting this rate with?

you can type in 'pricewaterhousecoopers' to build a quote and see what they offer. i'm not sure which groups are associated with the personal.. u'll have to call them up and see, but usually they are referenced through your place of work or alumni institution.

they were actually too high for me. both td insurance under a group discount and pc financial gave me a better quote, especially when i bundled my car with my home. you basically have to hunt around and pick what's best. also... i sometimes find there is a difference in price between the online generator and when u call them directly.

Online quotes is hopelessly inaccurate and never will be accurate. Much easier to call them and it saves more time as they often ask less questions than online quotes.

both pc financial and td insurance were only 20$ higher on their online quotes. so some sites offer a pretty accurate number. but i agree.. if u could only see some of the online quotes i've received for my motorbike

My wife is with Irving Oil Ltd, which is the group that we are under with The Personal. I have been with them for a couple of years now and can't say enough about their prices and awesome customer service. I was with ING previously and not only was their premiums MUCH higher than The Personal, their customer service was atrocious. I would definitely advise people to stay away from ING.

I did up a quote using City of Toronto as the group, and the quote came in at about $1500 lower than the next lowest I've seen (belair). I just gotta find a group I qualify for, and it seems that different groups get different rates since all the credit unions there seem to get a rate that's $2000 higher than the City of Toronto rate.

Yes, my insurance is killer. I'm 24 and live in the middle of the city which makes my insurance even higher. But no matter what car I get, it's this high, variances of only a few hundred a year between the G35 and an econobox. Might as well have fun!

Hey guys,
Yah i knew i was paying a bit more than what everyone else pays. I'm getting the same rate from almost every insurance comapany i called, it's just because i'm 21...i just have to get older i guess...loll
But guys, try RBC i found their rates better than most companies i found. I think i'm going to stick with statefarm for a litte while till i can find a better insurance company. I dont want to be switching every other month.

$70/mth with Allstate and I guess I am biased because I own an Allstate agency.
True what you said about online comparison quotes, it doesn't factor in other discounts that you are entitled to.
I do a fair amount of local group insurance here in Kingston and a group rate can save $100's a year.
Shop around and judge for yourself and then you can get a feel for the person you will be dealing with.
You want to have a good rapport with the person you are dealing with because you are trusting most of your valuable assets with that person and there company. You want to make sure they have your back.
Some people just like to shop and not deal with a person at all and that is fine, different strokes for different folks.
Matt

22yo male. Clean record. $200/month Liability only w/ Belair Direct. Sadly, that was the lowest price I could get.

Still cheaper than the Spec V @ $254/month.
