Toronto storm

I left the 10 C weather of Cowtown yesterday and flew into T.O. yest night - not that I've seen much of Toronto while I've been here (I had a meeting at the Sheraton Gateway). This morning I woke up to the news that Toronto is going to get hammered with snow, up to 25 cm by the time the storm ends tomorrow. Lovely!

So not only do I have to wait until 9 pm for my flight back to Calgary, but I am keeping my fingers crossed that we can actually fly out tonight.

Thankfully I have my laptop computer and a wireless connection to help me pass the time, browse the car forums, and do a bit of client work to pass the time. The restaurant in the hotel actually serves up quite a good filet mignon so I think I'll dive into one of those!

I know, I know - this isn't an G35 or car related thread for that matter, but I'll be lurking on G35driver for at least a good part of this evening.

Cheers.

That sucks Joel, hopefully you'll get home tonight.

BTW if you look around driver, no one posts anything about G35s anymore. This site is now an extension of myspace.

So true Christian. The threads about our cars are pretty limited.

I guess you're right that nobody seems to post about their cars anymore - and some of the guys who post regularly no longer own G's or at least don't use them as their main ride. We've got at least one M5 owner, an M roadster owner, and a couple 350Z guys on this forum.

If I may so impose and put a G-related thought into this thread, I saw a silver G37 in my parkade - the pictures don't blow me away, but I was impressed with its looks when I saw it in person. I also like the G sedan, and have considered getting back into the G family again - great cars, great performance, and reasonably priced. But to do so, I gotta get over this craving for a 335.

Cheers.

The best of luck getting home safely Joel. Thankfully we are getting all rain this weekend and not snow.

Hopefully Joels flight was not cancelled last night.

It hasn't snowed here for a couple of days, all the roads are clear and the grass is showing in spots. We are getting strong north winds but I really think this storm is going to miss us in our shoreline town (I hope).

Best wishes with that Wayne.

Like Shane, I think we're going to miss the snow part. There is 40-70mm of rain forecast here. It's pretty heavy rain here now and +12. Our snow is completely gone.

Phew! Narrow escape!

Well, I was able to escape yesterday, with only a 2 hour flight delay - the plane came in from Halifax a little late, and then we had to wait for passengers and their bags from a connecting flight. Even though I was flying back west and had gained back 2 hrs on the time difference, when all was said and done I didn't get back into the comfort of my own house until 230 am. As tired as I am, my 10.5 month old son is going to wake up soon, so I'm looking forward to seeing him!

Pearson was pretty crazy yesterday - I felt sorry for those families who were trying to leave for vacation and had their flights postponed or cancelled. Apparently Pearson has cancelled over 50 arrivals and 50 departures until late Saturday afternoon. Talk about mayhem!

I'm glad to be out of the snow and looking forward to the 11 C weather today. The next 3 days the forecasted high will be 12 C. I just might take my Z out of winter hiding and head out for a cruise this weekend!

Thanks to everyone on the forum for 'keeping me company' while I waited for my flight. Have a great weekend, everybody!
