Yeah, I think told you that story of teaching H.

I was never successful as her manual driving instructor.

The only hondas I would be caught driving in is EG6 with a K20 or AP1 S2K. There's something about that 9000rpm redline that makes me sexually aroused.

I learned something today...I think...

Did I read that right, that manufacturers "pre-break-in" the motors and they already have been redlined before we even get them?

If so, wow.

^ I am soooooooooooooooooooooo happy you posted that link.

It's hard to admit, but I have a bit of a birth defect, I have a very heavy right foot (I know, not funny, I tried)

I "gave it" to the G a few times under the supposed 2000km break in, not full out, but I'd say pretty close to redline. I kind of felt guilty for that and now not at all.

Thanks for the link xuper

I personally do not believe in it. It's a controversial subject. But, to each their own. I definitely would not buy a car from someone that broke a car in that way, but that's me.

I'm with you Wayne.....only a fairly gentle break-in for mine too.-- Mostly....An occasional trip to the higher limits of the rev band are fine but for the most part I avoid them for the first 2k........

As that article says, it's "a very contraversial subject".....

Ya i came across that site many times, but i'm going to follow the owners manual just to be on the safe side, afterall it's written by the enginiers that designed the engine.

+1 ... lol.. i'm so sick of seeing that link posted up every time someone talks about break-in. he really scores on the free advertising department though.

what i find frightening is that all he ever talks about is the piston ring seal... as though it is essentially the only moving part in the entire automobile. what about everything else? differential, transmission, clutch, brakes, etc...
