Hey everybody, long time reader, first time poster since I finally dropped the money for an '05 G35C.

I'm loving the car, but something is weird with my DRLs... I start my engine, release my parking brake, and the DRLs come on... not sure what triggers it, but sometimes, they go back off after a minute or so of driving, even though I haven't touched the lights at all.

Manual says "drls will remain on until the ignition switch is turned off", any thoughts on why this is happening? It's a canadian car, no modules that I have found, any thoughts would be appreciated.

Your DRLs shouldn't be going on and off. Not sure what's going on, but your car should still be under warranty, so have the dealership take a look.

 

Is it a US import with modified DRLs by any chance????

 

The DRL is hooked into the parking brake as well.
When it's on the DRL should be off. Perhaps your park brake isn't fully disengaged or switch is bad.

RBull: the parking brake light goes off and the DRLs still don't go on sometimes, so I think you may be onto something with the swtich being bad, I guess that's a way to start the talk with the dealer...
