replacing bushing/stablizer

Hello guys.

i have been experiencing this "click click" noise everytime i turn my steering wheel slowly.. . i finally brought my car to a mechanic shop today and he told me that it might be my front left bushing or stablizer that's loose/ worn out..

so here i am just wondering if anybody has ever experiecen the same sympton on their G35 ..... if yes.. can the noise be eliminated simply by replacing the stablizer or the bushing??

lastly.. anybody has an idea how much am i looking at to replace these parts?? is there any reputatble aftermarket brands for this??!!

sorry tio throw bunch of questions here without much contributing...but i do come here and check all the new posts everyday. ....

When you turn your steering wheel, does the clicking noise occur when you go "lock to lock"?( meaning full rotation from one side to the other).

Does this occur when you are moving or does it happen when when you are parked?

I would try spraying the linkages with some silicone spray first.

um. i don't have to turn my steering wheel full rotation to make that sound.... i can hear it just by turnign the steering wheel a little.. .. could it be the bushing or the endlinks that is worn out?? i have read the thread you provided in your post but that seems more like a shock absorber issue since the driver has to go over a bump.. where in my case.. i don't hear anything when i go over a bump or a pothhole.. only wheni turn my steering wheel...

thanks again for your reply!

I'm wondering if it might be connected with the power steering pump? Have you checked the fluid level of the pump?

I can't help you with the diagnosis since I haven't heard of or experienced this myself. My suggestion is to try another shop for a more specific cause and fix.

yeah. i actualyl just flushed my power steernig fluid yesterday when i changed my summer tires.. and unfortuantely i still keep hearing that weird noise.. i just had a word with my mechanic and he said it is most likely the tie-rod or the bushing that are worn out.. and it is not a major issue as for now.....

should i take his words and just leave it as is!?!?

Personally, I would get them looked at and replaced. Its your suspension that you are dealing with.

Anything with the motor or suspension I would get done fairly quickly.

Check out the Marketplace for anyone selling used suspension parts. Save yourself some $$$.

Hey I have the exact same problem, I think it's the stabilizer end links which is a common problem, geez I JUST fixed the compression rod thing, ah well....

Willowdale Infiniti has been good to me by first diagnosing the problem THEN actually charging me for the actual repair so I'm going to check it out with them first to see what's going on.

I'm out of warranty at the dealership as well but Richard has been pretty good to me so far.

From research on this forum, I'm quite sure we have to repack the wheel bearings on the front, which means basically lub/grease them up again which I was quote $100 for labour which is fair cause it's quite a bit a work.

I'm getting a creaking sound at the front when breaking which I'm thinking is the stabilizer endlinks warn out.

Darn Infiniti I thought the car quality would be better then this, I've had every 2003 problem so far but still love the car sigh.........
