It can only be reset by nissan with a consult 2 or 3 or by me or by someone using the same software as me.
disconnecting the battery has no effect. Resetting the ECU has no effect.
I guess I should mention that it may go away if you run 87 octane. If the engine starts to knock the ecu will retard the timing back to stock or even worse-as low as 13* which I have seen on a few cars since doing this.

For those of you who are still skeptical here is the procedure.
I turn off your ignition and plug an OBD2 compliant gizmo into your port. I plug the other end into my laptop USB port. I start the car and then turn on the laptop and start the software. It takes about 5 minutes for the crappy NISSAN/INFINITY ecu to handshake with the laptop.
The software scans the ecu for any SES codes and/or ghost codes. Assuming there are no codes I call up a screen which shows your current timing setting. I will show that to you so you know what your base timing is. I then run the test which initiates the timing advance. I advance it 2 degrees. (sorry that's as high as I can go)
I then go back to the screen which showed your original timing and it should have jumped from 15/16 to 17/18 (most common) as the idle will go up and down a bit. I will again show you the screen with the corrected timing.
If necessary I can adjust your idle if it jumps up too high. In some cases (not all ) the revs will jump up about 250 which can be corrected. I then turn off the software and unplug from your vehicles port.
Then you give me 20 bucks....

Just a thought....
What about tying in as part of the GTA - Spring Meet '08
We did this before with Kevin (Picus112) and his detailing.
Theme meets are great!

I can do this at a meet, but there is no place and time. I picked 400/7 AMC parking lot for now because there seemed to be a lot of interest (via pm's) and it is about halfway between hamilton and the east end.
g-man, I'm still waiting to hear from dandymax. Hopefully he will be helping me with my ES poly bushing install this Saturday, but if I am back on time it should be no problem.

Well, it looks like there is no interest in having a meet this Friday. I am open to suggestions as to a better date. Problem is I am on midnight shift for the next 2 weeks so a weekday meet is out of the question.
g-man I will get back to you tonight, dandymax hasn't responded to my email so I will give him a call tonight.
