Got an estimate for my bodykit

I bought Impul sides and a Kenstyle rear and I got an estimate on Friday for $1200. Do you guys think that's a fair price? Or should I shop around.

you mean for paint ? as they say.... helllllz no...

sideskirts should be $400 max, and that's at a really good body shop thats more on the expensive side, and rear bumper should be about the same if not $50 more. And like I said, these prices are for better quality shops with higher prices

He said the reason behind it was that there was a lot of prep work to be done on these. I'll take it somewhere else I guess than.

Arbor, on Fraser and Marine... but I do not recommend it anymore, I've made them around $5000 with my car and friend recommendations and they screwed me on a $200 grille paint job. They didn't prep the grill and just did one coat over the older darker paint, so now the grille is noticeable darker than the rest of the car. I brought it back to give them a chance to be stand up about it and redo the grill, but they wouldn't repaint it, so I'm not going back there anymore.

See you at the meet next week man!

OP, yea buddy said it right $800 is the absolute most you should be paying if not less.

That partly depends on the amount of prep work involved. Some of these things may have some flaws or fitment issues. Are you doing the install or are they?

+1 some kits have poor fitment and or need some body work done to them. If you think it is too high get a few quotes if they are are all in the $1200 range your kit may be poor fitment and need some extra work.

How much did the Kuruma front cost to paint by itself and how was fitment? That is one of the reasons I am a bit hesitant to get the Kuruma Z because of fitment issues...

The Kuruma front bumper fits great. Well, at least the one I got. My shop said it was better quality than stock. They had some adjustments to make, but nothing major.

Later,

either way man, there is no way it will cost that much for prep work done to those sides and rear. he is just charging you up your @ss for labor.
