Brake Pads + Shop

Hi guys,

Well it was a matter of time and I have to change my rear brake pads.
They already started squealing. The fronts are not too far along as well....

I believe the stocks are Hawk.

Recommendations? thoughts?

More imporatantly, where to buy and who can install them properly?

I got a quotation from the dealership after my M3 service, but, I always like to shop around as dealers can charge more

Thanks

I'm using Hawk HPS' on my sedan and will be using them again. They are not as aggressive in comparison to OEM pads( from 2003) but fairly close in stopping power and a bonus, no brake dust!!!

I had mine installed at SimonePerformance in Newmarket. Much better deal than at the stealership.

There are also some good DIY's on the Board if you're so inclined. Looks like a pretty straightforward job to me and I'm barely average on the mechanically-inclined scale.

I'm guessing that puts you approximately 2 standard deviations ahead of me.

I just bought a complete rear and front set of Brembo drilled rotors and Hawk pads for a little less than $1,000. I will be installing them myself.

I am using Satisified Pro ceramics on my '03 coupe with brembo calipers, and I have no complaints. Virtually no dust or noise.

Is the brembo brake job straightfoward also?

You'll have to search. I think I saw one for it, with pics in the DIY section. Might even luck out and find a video!

Thanks for all the feedback guys.

I think i will just go with a stock setup as I have had no complaints with it.

I spoke to victor from SimonePerformance last week but did not have a chance to call him back.

I will call and book for an appointment this week.

Thanks again

Anyone know what the stock rotors are on a 2006 Coupe?

Hopefully a machining would suffice.

But if not, Victor at SimonePerformance got some drilled rotors.

well hopefully i dont have to change my rotors....i dont have any problems with the stock setup so dont mind going back to it if i need to change my rotors.

Thanks guys
