I think I'm going to go in to the dealership and play dumb. I have aftermarket pads and rotors that are brand new on the rears and less than 6 months on the fronts. I get the sqeaking noise only when reversing.

Also, when the wheel is turned to the right (even slightly) there's an intermittent noise as if there is something scrapping on the metal/pads. Very strange and VERY ANNOYING!

hello BB_Sam,

the reason why you are getting that noise is probably because the mechanic who put your pads on didnt do a good job on remove the dirts and/or put enough grease to lubricate between parts.

i had the exact same problem earlier it's now noise-free after i had them re-serviced..

hope this helps.

I went to a local Nissan dealership and was told that with all non-OEM brakes i'd get some noises... he couldn't explain the right turn sound (other than maybe some dirt being lodged in there).

My mechanic says that Nissan is full of it ... but that I should drive the car for a few more days to see if the debris will either fall out or burn itself off.

I'm skeptical that any of this will work but doing nothing is VERY cost effective...

Doesn't take much to pull off the wheel, pull the pads and inspect/clean things up. Even *I* can do it.

Yeah, i'm going to get my mechanic to just do that. I think b/c I called him on the phone instead of just dropping in, he took the easy way out. I'm going to do a surprise visit and have him just clean the pads and grease things up.....

Yeah it is. I am hoping to get a 2005 G35x but I see the value of my car has plumeted since I bought it.

I suppose this is because of the American used cars that are flooding into Canada. It's almost not worth taking the $$ hit to sell.... But even at the lowered list price of $15,500, I'm getting very few serious inquiries...

Okay, so it appears that my problem for all noises are defective front pads. My mechanic looked at them and said they're not performing correctly and they need to be replaced. They are NewTek which he says aren't that good. Since these are relatively new, they are being replaced under warranty but I'll probably spend a few extra $$ to put Wagners on.

Anyone else have problems with NewTek pads?

So Brad, I have to ask...what are you doing with those sport wheels? Going with the car, I presume? Love to talk you out of them if you have another set you could put of the car for sale.
