Nissan Ca. Approved the repair.....

I got a call from Nissan Ca. today telling me they have approved my claim and agreed to have my door matched there is only one thing I find odd they told me the body shop is going to "match buff" the pannel so it blends in with the others Has anyone heard of this prosses? I have heard of this from a friend of mine who knows about my problem, he has a cousin who works at a collision center his cousin told him to tell me to get that done but I have no clue what exactly they doo to match it up but if it works without a repaint than cool. The person assured me it would be fixed properly and if its not to my satisfaction I am to call them back ASAP.

That's good news.....
Glad to hear they looked after you.
Still...... it's a shame they didn't do the right thing the 1st time.

Good for you. I have no idea what a match buff is. A buff is a light compound to the paint so this doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

It sounds like they are going to blend the surrounding paint work.
So they sand the doors or fenders around what they are painting to remove the clear . Then paint the door and lightly spray some on the surrounding areas so that it blends easier to the eye . Otherwise it is butt matching where the 2 different painted surfaces have a seam where you may be able to tell it was painted.
After paint they clear the whole panels and buff it down to smooth it out.
