clutch replacement help

Hi I have a 2006 g35 coupe and was just looking into to getting her clutch replaced. When I went to my mechanic they quoted me $1400 just for the clutch kit plus flywheel (not including labor). It seems the flywheel is the most expensive piece at $1000 it's self. That seems very high. Does anyone know a great aftermarket clutch that i might be able to buy for cheaper to save some money. I believe the 350z and the g35 engines are identical, can I use a clutch from Nissan for a 2006 350z.

Yeah you'll be Ok with the Z clutch/flywheel.

Look into the JWT clutch/flywheel combo.

If that is too expensive, the Z1 combo is ok too.

u can buy oem flywheel on ebay for bout $850. id stay away from lightweight flywheels as they usually come with chatter. or do what i did and reuse ur flywheel. everyone says change it together but my mech told me no need so i took the chance. and so far i havent had any issues. i guess it depends on the mileage and how old the car is

you can get the oem flywheel new for $820, an oem clutch new for $239, and the labor should be around $400.

thats insane.

you can get all aftermarket parts for a fraction of the cost. and they will all perform much better than stock dual mass crap.

I'm still pretty torn on the lightweight flywheels. I have an aluminum one in my Audi and LOVE how it feels but it does have that chatter which sucks...I've heard the steel ones are a little better?

Yea I guess if u consider chatter performance then I guess. I'd rather have a quiet smooth clutch
