Question Question for the Professional detailers.....

I'm posting another thread on this because I need a quick response, as most of you know I'm having an issue with my car door for the others here is the link https://g35driver.com/forums/canada/215353-oakville-infinity-fixed-my-rusted-door.html the door has been repainted but is a little darker than the original color, I finally got Nissan Canada to ok the repair but the body shop is claiming they can match the panels by using a high speed buffer to buff the original panels until it matches with the newly painted one. My question is will this work and will it be 100% resolved? I personally don't think so because I've given the original panels 2 coats of wax (with an orbital buffer). Any of you guys who do this for a living come across this situation and have you resolved the problem?

Fxxk them. They did this to you because they were aholes and wouldn't do the right thing. Go to another bodyshop. Check out Imperial, Guelph Infiniti uses them, or Queensway in KW, I used them.

Roy I would do as Sam suggested. Go to one of those shops and ask their professional opinion. They aren't that far from you.

It's highly doubtful any colour will be restored on your car from compounding it. The colour should have matched from the beginning. If the other panels needed to be "buffed" to match; and could actually match they would have done it at the time.

OK I checked with the guys where my Bro works and they DO NOT RECCOMEND going that route, that process only strips layers off the clear coat. I phoned Guelph Infiniti pretending I had the rust on my door and asked them how they go about fixing the problem, the service advisor told me they replace the door and repaint most of the side of the car BLENDING IT IN. I phoned Nissan Ca. and asked them why the F**k one dealership blends in the paint and the other doesn't, of course the consultant told me he would pass the message on to the person reviewing the case and they would be in touch
I'm realy getting pissed off with this BS going on I don't know if its Oakville Infiniti or Nissan Ca. playing games but it will stop this week.

I feel your anger Roy. FWIW, I'd call Infiniti Ca. and speak to whomever is on the file. Ask if you can have another dealership complete the repair because you are very disappointed in the service you got at Aholes and would like to take it to Guelph as they are close to you. In other words, do you have the option of going somewere else. If so, go to Guelph or Queensway or another shop that will do the job right and that Infiniti Ca. will deal with.
Seems Infiniti Ca. is trying to treat you right, don't bite the hand that holds the cash bro. More flies with sugar, eh.

I agree, they have to respray to match the colour. No way buffing is going to blend it in

Agreed. I find it amazing that a body shop would even suggest something like this for matching paint.

Not so amazing, these were the same guys that figured the doors would match or that Roy was blind. Idiots usually stay idiots.

Just make sure Infiniti Ca. is on board with paying another stealership. You can cerainly make a case for not going back to the original. GL
It's been a while since I was at Guelph, does anyone know who'sbehind the service desk these days (GEEX35). Last person I dealt with was Heather Learner or something like that. She was good BTW.
