I'm impressed with all the work you have done Deane. Your plantings and those rock placements are just beautiful. It looks like your lot backs into a hill from a couple of those pics, and you don't see too many stairways and landings done in exposed aggregate, looks very nice and original.

^thanks guys.

You're right about the bank behind us Wayne. There is a lot of elevation changes in our area. Some of our neighbours across the street have very little backyards because there is another much higher and steeper drop than we have.

We can't take credit for everything. The rock placements were done by the developer and all houses on my side of the street have them, to act as retaining walls. Most have 2 levels of rock due to a higher bank. The stairway/landing is actually quite a larger structure. Even the sides are exposed aggregate.

The landing was done at the same time as the drive by the builder who built on spec. The house actually won the Nova Scotia Home Builders Association house of the year in 2000 for it's size category. We bought it in '02.

There was some landscaping done when we got here but we tore most of it out and about 3/4 was professionally designed and landscaped. We did a bit of it. I built the lower deck, put up the shed etc and some of the plantings.

Neither of us really do. We pretty much share a lot of the gardening but I end up with a bit more of the grunt work!

You guys are too kind. It's a lot easier when we don't have a large property like we had before.

I started out to take lawn pics only and one of the driveway for Wayne. I got carried away and took a lot more since everything looks so new and fresh now. i took a bunch I didn't post! .

Thanks Wayne. Hope all is well in cow town and you're enjoying your well deserved break. Best wishes on the employment front and with your weather over the next few days!

Well we definitely don't have dry lawns here. We have recieved so much rain lately. The lawn must be cut every 3 days (as long as it isn't raining)

I want to put on my nismo chin spoiler, but it seems there is always rain in the forecast. This is one of the times I wish I had a garage.

Heck, I went out for a few things just now and the rain gods let loose again and the water was 3" deep covering the road in front of my house.

The trick is finding a day when the grass is dry enough for the girls to cut it.

Send some of it here. I watered for 8 hours yesterday. It was the first time this year though. Tonight we're supposed to have 15-20 mm so that's good.

Last few years it rained cats and dogs for most of May and June.
