Can anyone recommend a good product for bringing headlight covers back to life?

depending on how bad they are you might need to wet sand them with an 8-10,000 grit sandpaper then use the Plastic-X with a high speed buffer. I did my VW Golf 2 yers ago the headlights were so bad you couldn't even see inside because of all the hase and road grime, by the time I was done it looked like I had bought new headlights infact my wife didn't believe me when I showed her the finished result. If yours are not that bad use a wool pad and a buffer attachment on your drill with the plastic-X and it should turn out fine.

I like PlastX as well; but would a LC yellow pad with some compound work better? I have some annoying swirls I can't get out with PlastX.

Asad,
Plastex has its limits for sure. For deeper abrasions, you'd have to go with a pad and compound first.....

Hey Asad, I would be careful with compounding. A yellow pad sounds a bit much to me. I would start with white and move up to orange then yellow if needed. I've taken lots of swirls out of tail lights with white/ssr1

I use 3M Plastic Polish and it does a great job on headlamp/tail covers.

Wasn't there a TSB for the dealership to take care of the headlight cover clouding issue?

Thanks for the advice; will give it a try with a white pad and SSR 1.

One other thing I am bit suprised by is on Autopia; apparently our paint has a very hard clear coat but I don't know why then it is so proned to chipping and swirling. I have a few troubled areas on my paint (when I told my stupid dealership to buff out a scratch in the clear; they put touchup paint and tried blending it in; looks horrible) and was wondering if SSR 2.5 with a yellow pad would be sufficient if our clear is as hard as everyone is saying. I used some Scratch X and it got out some of paint/compound but alot of it still remains.
