TPMS light comes on

I was driving to Edmonton the other day, and the TPMS light comes on after like 30 minutes in. So i pulled over to check the tire pressure with my digital pressure gauge and it was dead on at 35 psi. This only happens on the highway, and when I got to E-town the lights went off.

Any ideas?

Thanks guys.

What is your pressure on cold tires? Checking them after driving for a while will give you a false (higher) reading.

On the coupe the TPMS will come on at 28psi and it's 25 psi on the sedan. it seems like something may be faulty in your system if you're above that and if the light only illuminates on the highway. The TPMS activates at speeds above 32km.

If you're on stock wheels sounds like a fault.
Could be a bad sensor.

I am on stock wheels, I was thinking like a leak or something. I check my tire pressure like weekly and its always around 34-36. Any idea on what it will cost for to replace the sensor? And thank you for all your responses.

^ I have a similar problem on my 06 coupe. On my car the TPMS light flashes for about a minute and then stays on permanently..
When I went to a dealer and spoke to a parts manager about it, he told me it was a bad sensor that runs about $100 (estimate off the top of his head) each to replace.

Is there a max reading on the TPS? Meaning, if the tires are over inflated will the sensor light come on? I have this same problem, and the dealer told me its normal on hot days.
