It's funny because an acquaintance of mine had bought the following cars from them (Nissan/Infiniti of Oakville):
- 1 m45
- 1 fx45
- 1 350z
- 1 g37

Yet, they still wouldn't let him in on the first lot of GTR's.

Having said that, this guy must have been a really valuable (re: unmarked duffel bag of cash) customer.

Canada only getting 150 of them There goes my dream of getting one. I was going to put a down payment last year but I thought I would never spend $100K on a car then I drew up my plans for my G and I will be over $80K makes sence to get a GTR. Make a down payment for the SpecV in 2010

The initial run of 'R's were few and quickly spoken for and maybe subject to outrageous markups, but subsequent years should be more available and plentiful hopefully...
....That's what I'm aiming for....

I've been looking at what it would cost to modify the roadster and the costs are quite staggering. But it's still cheaper than buying a GTR, if you exclude the cost of purchasing the car in the first place. But the real interesting points are a factory built twin turbo with a warranty and the ability to drive the car all year, even in the snow. That has some merit and points to think about.

As for the chances of getting a GTR in Canada ..... I don't think we have the contacts to make that purchase. However, we may be able to purchase one in the USA. Yes, even I'm thinking about the Spec-V GTR next year, or the year after. The one thing I'm waiting to see is what crossover technology/parts are going to be available for the VQ35HR from the GTR in next while. In the meantime, I'll monitor the progress and analysis of the GTR.

That would be fantastic Colin.

I agree they may be a bit more accessible in the future both quantity and price. I think Nissan already announced more coming to NA than the initial 1500 for '09 model year....up to 2500.

Nicely done.

I'm actually contemplating the exact same move. They seem to be very low mileage (especially in the states that have snowy winters), and are still super cheap compared to local versions.

Good luck with the process.

If you don't mind me asking, did you use a broker, or do it yourself?
