If it leaks, the salt can migrate into all the nooks & crannies & you will get corrosion.
Just having it in the trunk can also corrode electrical components & connections.

I've used granular limestone.
It's heavy for it's volume & works great if you need to sprinkle a little under the tires.
thanks for the heads up!

Concerning the issue of trunk space, I was very surprised to learn how accommodating it can be.

I play hockey (goalie) and I manage to fit all my equipment with ease, I fold down the back seats slide 2 sticks through the opening, throw my pads inside the car (back seats) and my bag fits "perfectly" snug in the trunk.

Or if you have more important things to haul...
I loaded the coupe up with 11 2-4's and made a trip to the beerstore

Good luck!
you drive the coupe and fit all that goalie equipment in the trunk? see i need to lug hockey bag around as well, plus work related bags/coaching bags on the other days and just find the trunk somewhat small, as the girl drives a coupe. but i guess if i folded down the seats it would make it a little easier.

I was leaning heavily against the sedan, but as time passes the X is starting to look like a decent alternative

I was getting a little nervous before I purchased the car wondering if things were going to fit, luckily they did.

As for all your equipment, you are going to be limited with the coupe in terms of other passengers...whereas with the sedan you can fit 2 more in the back seats and they have their own door. I think the sedan has a 60/40 split in the back so that also lets you throw 2 hockey bags in the trunk and other stuff on the folded seat potion (still keeps 1-2 back seats open).

Sounds like you have more stuff to carry than I do, so I would say the sedan would be your better buy, practicality wise.
