Canadian OC problems

Canadian OC problems

Have any canadian owners had there engines replaced because of the OC problem?

a coworker with an '06 Z just had his long block replaced under warranty. this was after an oil consumption report/testing at the dealer. this engine is the rev-up.

his car was imported from the US after it had lived there 6 months, but the OC issue is common thoughout North America...

I believe FX'd had his engine replace recently for this reason.

It only applies to the 05-06 sedan and 05-07 coupe

See above. However if you have an '04 car that meets the same oil consumption standards, using the Infiniti TSB & have documented oil change records you will likely be successful.

Are you saying you bought a car with oil consumption problems?

i have only had my car for 2000km's can't really say i have noticed anything yet, but hey a new motor is never a bad thing!!!!

so just wanted to find out, is this problem only with 05-06 coupes so what about 03-04 coupes ? why only in those years ? this is probly a noob question

engines were updated with more power. can't remember the technical problem for the oil burning... something to do with the rings not sealing properly or something.

so for me as an 04 owner do i have to look for problems ? and what is it that i have to look for ? 1L a week type loss or less

There have been isolated cases, but not typical for an '04.
My '04 barely used any between changes, I never had to top up.

^+ there are some reported on here but mine also uses almost none. I was down about 1/4 liter in 5K at the last change.

Are your cars AT or MT. this prob only in the MT
