Smile Interesting Challenger/Shelby encounter this morning

I was traveling back roads on my way into the office this morning.

Coming though the Kettleby area at about 8a.m (where we cruised with the GTA group last year) .
I spotted a new black on black Dodge Challenger travelling in the opposite direction.....

As it passes, I'm rubbernecking to see as much of it as possible when I spot a white Shelby coming up from behind the Challenger.
Before I can take it all in...... what do I see but another B on B Challenger behind the Shellby

The next thing I see is a train of 5 or 6 F150s following along behind.
I figure this is waaaay too much to be a coincidence.
I'm sure what I stumbled upon is Ford doing a shakedown run of the Challenger.

and you were probably too shocked for phone pics besides happening too fast.
Definitely would have been neat to give chase to see what was up

I reached for the phone & realized i hadn't turned it on ..... damn!

I think one of the reasons for the F150s was to keep followers at bay.

Very cool. All that is too much of a coincidence and you must be right about that.

I was lucky enough to ride shotgun in my friend's black Challenger. What a monster. It had gobs of torque!

Well Curtis just bought it about a month ago, and he just got the new car detailing treatment from the owner of Mobile Reflections, the guy who did such a great job on my former 350Z. All I can say is that it is a head turner, almost moreso than the exotics. There are so many Ferrari's and Lambo's in Calgary that I think people are almost used to seeing them, but I have yet to see many Challengers.

I'll likely bring my dSLR to work sometime in the next couple weeks and will shoot some pics of his ride. I was expecting the tires to be wider (245 20's?) and wished the fenders flared a bit more, but overall the car is quite a visible statement. Old style muscle with new school technology.
