Never heard of them. I bought my winter setup from 417 Infiniti where I bought the car. They had an annual winter tire clinic every fall where Toyo would bring in truckloads of tires already mounted & balanced, choice of models, sizes and alloy or steel wheels.

Thanks for the info U_S, I called them up and they're doing it again on October 23-26...do you remember roughly what the prices were for a 4 tires setup? with/without rims?

Keep in mind it was 3 years ago I bought mine - Toyo Garit HT's (H speed ratred) 215/55/17.
If I recall correctly a set of 4 were about $1,450 on alloys or $1,250 on steelies, mounted and balanced (plus tax of course).

I never priced them without rims because I needed a second set of wheels. I change them over myself at home every spring and fall along with my wife's and my son's cars.

When I bought a set of Toyo's and spare wheels for my wife's Corolla about the same time, I found Treff's Tire on Carling to be the best deal. When I bought new Goodyear summers for her car two years ago Frisby Tire on Clyde was the best deal.

All I can suggest is that you shop around - you never know what you'll find.

I've definitely been shopping around; Tony Graham gave me some similar prices for the original tires you bought at 417.

$1466: Steel/Toyo Garits (staggered set up for the coupe)
$2038: Alloy/Toyo Garits " "

Winter rims are not essential for me right now, I was thinking about swapping the tires on my OEM 17's and maybe next year upgrade to a 19’ wheel.

When I called Ottawa Tires Direct they said they would beat the prices of any of the competition including Tirerack/Costco...basically he might knock off a few bucks for what I would pay if I shipped tires from the US on T/R.

When I had my old Altima, I went to Carling Tire (1784 Carling Ave, connected to the Sunoco) They swapped my all-seasons, balanced and disposed of the old ones for about $220 (some no-name touring tires but it did the job).
I asked them if they could do a winter set up and he told me I'd be better off at Frisby.

I also used to swap my winter/summer tires in my driveway each season but now I need larger tires to accommodate the bigger rims on the G.

I will definitely check out that clinic in October and go from there.

Thanks for the input!

I didn't mention it, but I really like the Garits for traction, ride and handling. They're relatively quiet for a winter tire, and they're better even in the wet than my OEM A/S's. They look like they're going to last forever - I've got almost 13,000km on them in three winters and they've only worn 1/32 of the original 12/32.

I'm not too familiar with the Toyos but I have an idea of what I want (price permitting)

The Dunlop Sport M3's seem to be popular among the G's (also received good ratings) and the various Blizzak models are another top contender.

The OTD guy said there was some rebate offered with the Dunlops (but I can't remember what for...couldn't hurt though)

I'll have to pull the trigger on something in the next couple weeks because there's definitely going to be a backlog of people needing winter tires, especially because of the new laws in Quebec.
