Questions for the 2005 - 2006 G Sedan Owners Out There
Don't worry, I'm going to do my OWN researching on this forum, but thought I'd throw out a few questions for the 2005-2006 G Sedan owners out there who have cosmetically modded their cars:
1. Does the typical 245 front 275 back combo work if one wants to go to a set of 19's? If so, what offsets are you running in order to avoid rubbing issues or having to roll your fenders. I just came from driving a Z where I could get away with a +25 offset (which wasn't that aggressive compared to the +17 offsets some Z drivers were running) and back when I owned by 2004 G Sedan I think my aftermarket 18's were a safe +42 offset.
2. If you lowered your car to achieve a moderate drop, what springs/shocks did you use. I lowered my former G Sedan using Eibach Pro Kit's and didn't like the drop. The front was fine, but the bottom settled to about 1.2" and without a camber kit, the rears were feathered pretty badly. I'd be happy with a 0.8" drop all around.
Having just sold my Z a month ago, I didn't want to drop a lot of cheddar on a new G coupe or sedan or 335 just yet, but the thought of having to drive my better half's gutless RAV4 til next spring just didn't sit well with me. So for now the RAV4 will be sold off, and I'm going to get into a nicely depreciated 6 MT sedan again. I had forgotten that in 2005 the engine hp was increased to 298 hp (on my test drive though, it didn't feel any different), and I liked the fact that the sideskirts and bottom of the front bumper is paint matched to the body of the car. The front bumper isn't quite as nice as that old NISMO bumper we all drooled over, but overall it will do just fine.
Of course, my questions are just because I can't keep this latest acquisition stock. The obligatory clear corners, drop, and summer wheels/tires will have to be incorporated into the mix. I'll still defer the decision to get into a newer and nicer car next year at the earliest.
Best of all I have a backseat again! And so my son can come cruising with dad now.
Thanks guys in advance for your responses.

In simple terms, whatever applied to your '04 also applies to the '05-06.
There were upgrades to the car, but suspension didn't change.
With aftermarket springs it's about impossible to drop < 1"
That's why many of us went with Z springs.
They drop ~ somewhere between .5 & .75 and you have no camber issues

Thanks Ian and Swivelhips. Looks like one can get away with a +35 offset on the fronts and 275/30-19's on the rears as long the wheel width is no more than 9.5" and the offset is a safe +45 or so.
Bought a 2005 IP 6 MT G Sedan for a great price. Take delivery tomorrow.
