Attention Mechanics I need some help..

Some of you may know I had a problem with my 2001 Pathfinder 3.5 starting up fine then stalling after 10 seconds or so. I brought it to the Steelership to get it checked cause my Mechanic couldn't figure out what was wrong, it turned out that swirl control valve was malfunctioning and I had to get a new Intake Manifold. Now everything is back together with new parts BUT when I start up the truck in the morning (cold start) it will rev fine but then Idle rough again only this time it doesn't stall, I had a look in the engine bay this Morning when I started it I can see the air swivel control in the open position but its closing too early which results in the rough Idle (air starvation), my question is there any way I can adjust this myself or do I have to take it back to the Steelership so they can soak more money from me.

try getting your mechanic to do it, it should be fixable, if he says he can't do it, then go back to the dealership and tell them they gave you a faulty control valve and that they need to fix it or replace it for free

I did some research and found out that after replacing the Intake Man. you have to perform an air Idle control reset to get it back to where it was = more money at the steelership $1200. and still spending money to fix this GD PROBLEM!

Roy, you might want to look over the Idle Control Reset procedure in the link below.
It takes you to a thread in our FAQ/DIY, just scroll down to Merlin's post which is #3. The info you need is in that post.

It involves the G sedan and coupes but it does apply to other Nissan rides too, including my M-45 (yes I tried it and it worked)..... .. so who knows, it just might work on the Pathfinder......

The procedure takes a little practice but is doable and can save you some $$$$$$$......

Good luck.
