hi guys yesterday i got my first ever speeding ticket in Canada I want to first congratulate myself going 62km/h in a 40Km zone (i was in second gear)
I was on Davenport street going towards Infiniti dealership (just passing) was stopped by the police, first i thought its the exhaust , im like "is it the exhaust?" and he showed me the radar result 62km . did not really argue.

good part was the officer looked at my record, seeing no previous ticket reduced it to 55km/h which resulted in $52 ticket with no reduced points.close call i guess.

the funny part is a day ago at the same spot an Aston Martin DBR was racing with a brand new chevrolet camaro , probably speeding twice as I did..

anyways long story short i want to mention favourite radar spots i have observed in GTA so the other G drivers are aware of it.

1-Davenport Road downtown, 40km zone, daytime, usually on saturday and sundays.

2-bloor st bridge towards danforth , right beside the school , almost every single morning (really early) and rush hour times.

3-mount pleasant road( if u enter from bloor, beware of the first light close to school, usually in the mornings , people who came from church going under the little tunnel especially!

4-eglinton and don mills + eglinton towards Leslie , there is like a upward hill , they usually stay at the top watching,

5-millwood road towards pape (watch out if you are coming from overlea and lard drive)

please add if you remember any , we might even make our own GTA radar map

 

I was gonna going to list all the Oakville (and surrounding) spots, but there are just so many.

 

Close call Musti.... you must have gotten him on a good day to get it reduced like that.

+1... i think most people are familiar with the hot spots in their own area's. i can't remember the last time i got a ticket.. probably over 12 years now. u just have to stay vigilant and drive accordingly to your surroundings... and above all, not act like a general douche.

Yes I spotted more cops using external radar lately. basically they hide their unmarked cruiser in a spot where you cannot see them and hook up with a external radar gun sitting on a tripod...basically there is absolutely no way you can spot it untill its too late. Just a heads up guys, I've notice more cops are using this method recently. So just becareful guys

 

#4 on your list, they do both directions.

also bayview and lawerence, going north on bayview right by cresent school(cops actually hide on the property) have radar there.

also on allen expressway coming south from the 401, they are set up right when you come to eglington. they tag you there since it changes from a 70 zone to a 40. quite easy to get nabbed there. possible that they have radar in the other direction as well.
